Home A/C running but not cooling

When the unit is running but the house is warm, the answer is usually airflow, refrigerant, or a frozen coil — and we can usually tell which on the first visit.

Do this
  • Set the thermostat to off and let the indoor coil thaw if it is iced
  • Replace the air filter if visibly clogged
  • Clear vegetation around the outdoor unit
Do not do this
